Our experienced, professional and friendly team is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported.
All staff plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to children's interests and development, and undertake regular professional training to maintain and develop their skills. All members of our team are trained in paediatric first aid.
We believe in building strong relationships with parents and carers, and our team is always happy to discuss your child's experiences, progress or any questions you may have.
Amber Davidge-Sears
Co-Supervisor, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, SENCO & Forest School Lead
Amber joined Walton Under Fives in 2014 and has worked in childcare since 2007. She holds an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and brings a wealth of experience to her role as Co-Supervisor, helping to create a welcoming, engaging environment and plan a wide variety of activities that support children's learning and development.
As our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Amber works closely with families to ensure children with additional needs receive the support they need. She also leads our Forest School activities, encouraging children to connect with nature through outdoor play and exploration.
Julie Barber
Co-Supervisor, Designated Safeguarding Lead & Health and Safety Officer
Julie has worked in childcare since 1992, bringing extensive experience as a nanny and childminder. Having previously served on the Walton Under Fives committee, she joined the teaching team in 2017.
Julie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, an NNEB qualification and an NVQ Assessor Award in Childcare. Her wealth of experience and qualifications help support the safe, nurturing environment we provide for children.
Helen Baker
Early Years Practitioner
Helen first became involved with Walton Under Fives in 2010 as a member of the pre-school committee, before joining the teaching team in 2014.
She holds an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and brings years of experience and a longstanding connection to the pre-school community, helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children.
Alison Shirley
Early Years Practitioner
Alison’s connection with Walton Under Fives began when her own children attended the pre-school. She later joined the committee before becoming a member of the staff team in 2003.
Alison is a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and brings over 20 years of experience to her role. As one of our longest-serving members of staff, she has supported generations of children and families and helps to create a warm, caring and welcoming environment where children can learn, play and thrive.
