Our Mission

Quality Child Care

At WU5 we aim to provide a safe, secure environment where all children are valued, irrespective of their race, religion or gender. As a fully inclusive setting, we provide structured play, where children can have fun and develop through the Early Years Foundation Stage. Parental/ carer's involvement in their child's early year's education is actively encouraged to support their future development and provide easy transition to school. We encourage children to have a positive attitude and respect both themselves and others people.

Our aim is to 'provide a safe and happy atmosphere in which all children can learn through play'.

Established since 1995

Established in 1995, we have been based in Walton Village Hall since 1999. We have built a good relationship with our neighbour, Walton C. of E. Primary School where many of our children move up to after completing their time here at WU5's.

Where Are We

Situated in the beautiful countryside village of Walton, minutes drive from Street and Glastonbury. Walton Under 5's Pre-school is located in Walton Village Hall, 200m from Walton C of E Primary School. Inside it is light, spacious and has access to its own garden area, the playing field, nearby park and the MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area).

What Facilities Do We Have?

The pre-school uses a free-flow system where the children can pick and choose what activities they want to do from what is available on the day. With this and a mix of adult led activities the children can learn and grow and be prepared for when they start primary school. For more information click HERE

Tapestry

Here at Walton Under 5's we use Tapestry to keep track of your child's progression. By using this online app it not only helps the environment and save paper. It allows parents to log on using their unique details to see how their child's progress in relation to the EYFS guidelines.

Working in Partnership

The Pre-school is charity run. It is governed by an elected committee of parents who's job it is to monitor finances, employ staff and keep families informed of changes within the preschool. One of their main roles is to organise fund raising events throughout the year enabling us to purchase or replace equipment and resources.

By being part of the committee you can actively help the pre-school and in turn your child's education. If you are a parent and wish to join the committee, who are always looking for new members, talk to one of our staff members who will be able to point you in the right direction.
